Born in Boise, Idaho July 18th 1968 I spent the first 12 years of my life on a farm in eastern Oregon until moving to Colorado in the winter of 1980. There, I graduated from high school and worked in the machinist trade until 1993 when I entered the manufacturing industry as a production supervisor and personnel manager. While in Colorado, I also became involved with recreation districts, starting as an employee during my jr. high and high school years taking care of recreation facilities, working with all youth sports and supervising an open gym program during the winters. After moving to Salida, Colorado, to take a job as plant supervisor. I also served as park and rec. coordinator, which I was able to do in the evenings.
Working for city recreation departments is what led to my passion for human services. The joy and satisfaction I found in serving others and helping people be the best they can be resulted in my decision to work in the disability services field upon returning to Idaho in 2001. I have worked as a Therapy Technician in learning centers and assisted living facilities, and spent some time as a Developmental Disability Technician at the Idaho State School and Hospital, direct care provision, training for a rehabilitation services company, and Job Site Development for a vocational support agency in Moscow. I am currently working for Disability Action Center as an Independent Living Specialist and AT person, which involves working closely with the ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act). I am certified in IBC codes for accessibility and usability, and I also sit on several committees in Moscow including, the Human Rights committee and the Community Walk committee, and sit on the state ERID (Employment resources for Idahoans with Disabilities) Committee. I sit on the board of directors for the Idaho ADA task force.
I have three children Jordan 20, Joshua 18, and Jolee 13 as of 2010
I have been a resident of Troy since 2003 and helped coach recreation fast pitch girls softball since 2006.
I have coached little league Baseball (Cal Ripkin) and Tee Ball and Pop Warner, 5th and 6th grade and Jr. high level football and coached YBA basketball.
